An Evening with Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald

"An Evening with Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald" will feature UB faculty and staff, as well as members of the community, several of Baltimore's best readers.

The program will feature several short excerpts of work by and about the Fitzgeralds:

  • pieces from The Great GatsbyTender Is the Night, and other work by Scott and Zelda;
  • letters between Scott and Zelda and between Scott and H.L. Mencken, Zelda's psychiatrists, and others;
  • observations about the Fitzgeralds and their work by Hemingway, Doctorow and others;
  • fictionalized representations of them and some of their characters from novels by Therese Anne Fowler and Chris Bohjalian;
  • and more.

"An Evening with Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald" is part of the M.F.A. in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts Spring Reading Series and Spotlight UB. It is co-sponsored by the Maryland State Arts Council, the Maryland Humanities Council, Baltimore Cultural Alliance, and CityLit.
